Laurent Freixe, who is currently head of the group's Latin America region, will take up his new position as CEO on 1 September. A Nestlé employee for more than 30 years, he joined the Group in 1986 and rose through the ranks to become head of Zone Europe between 2008 and 2014, then head of Zone Americas (the Group's largest zone) in 2014, and finally Executive Vice President of Zone Latin America. "Laurent Freixe successfully managed the Europe Zone during the financial and economic crisis from 2008 to 2014", announced Nestlé in its press release. It also states that Laurent Freixe proved his worth when he "took charge of the Americas zone, where he generated accelerated growth"

Laurent graduated from the EDHEC Grande Ecole programme – Master in Management in 1985, and is one of EDHEC's closest senior executives. He was a member of the school's Board of Directors, and is now a member of its International Advisory Board, a strategic body that works to develop the institution's international strategy. He continues to personally support the EDHEC For All scholarship programme, of which he is now Emerald Circle donor and fervent ambassador.

President of the Global Alliance for Youth, a network of 25 companies seeking to give young people a better chance in the world of work, Laurent has demonstrated throughout his career a commitment and entrepreneurial spirit that make the school proud of his achievements and tenacity. His work at Nestlé for over 30 years and his involvement in various international bodies make him an example of the model promoted by EDHEC: making business a solution to the major challenges facing society, for future generations.
