Bio

Gohar Stepanyan, PhD, joined EDHEC Business School in Fall 2016 with over ten years of professional work experience. She held various academic and non-academic positions in reputable institutions in North America (USA), Europe (France, Portugal) and Middle East (Armenia). She has previously taught at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, IÉSEG School of Management, American University of Armenia, and Purdue University's Krannert School of Management. Her non-academic experience includes working for the Central Bank of Armenia, Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Armenia, SEF International (a micro-finance institution), and American Express. Having such diverse and culturally enriching work experience allows her to foster dialog and tolerance for differences in opinion in the classroom and to encourage broader, international mindset among her students to keep up with the rapid pace of change in the global marketplace. She has delivered a wide range of courses in undergraduate, specialized master-level and MBA programs, always emphasizing intellectual rigor and acquisition of analytical, problem-solving & communication skills as key parts of the learning process. Her teaching and research interests are in Financial Management/Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, and International Finance.
