Ascension EDHEC
EDHEC is strengthening its commitment to social inclusion by launching Ascension EDHEC, a scheme in partnership with Empower College, a post-bac school dedicated to ‘repairing the social lift’..
Founded by Mehdi Cornilliet, Empower College is located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and supports BTS students as they prepare to enter the Grandes Écoles de Commerce at the end of their studies.
A new programme for BTS students
Empower College welcomes young people from all social backgrounds, and is offering, alongside its main course, an ‘Ascension EDHEC’ programme reserved for its best students selected by an EDHEC jury.
This programme, which is entirely free of charge and intended for students eligible for CROUS grants, will give them the opportunity to optimise their chances of success and join the EDHEC International BBA in 3rd year via the parallel admission route (ASD3), after obtaining their BTS.
During their course, students will have access to additional modules, reinforced teaching and the mentoring of an EDHEC student or alumnus. They will also benefit from master classes and campus visits to enrich their experience.
Diversifying EDHEC talent
The launch of this partnership is perfectly in line with the strategy already pursued by EDHEC to promote equal opportunities and increase social diversity on all its campuses.
It offers students from disadvantaged backgrounds dedicated support to prepare them for entry to the Grandes Écoles, in line with its objective of diversifying student profiles and promoting their inclusion within EDHEC.
The creation of this ‘Ascension EDHEC’ programme in partnership with Empower College is an innovative approach that will enable us to change the scale of our social inclusion policy. While maintaining our high standards of excellence, we want to attract more profiles with varied backgrounds, cultures and outlooks, because we are convinced that greater diversity of talent is a source of wealth for our campuses.
Emmanuel Métais
Dean of EDHEC Business School
Being able to count on the support of EDHEC in the creation of this infrastructure for social mobility through education is an invaluable opportunity for the future students of Empower College. As part of our mission to initiate 10,000 pathways to upward social mobility by 2034, the opportunity to work hand in hand with EDHEC is a tremendous boost to the emergence of this new kind of institution.
